Compositional and Computational Principles for Arts
2018 Research project.
In today's contemporary media practice, there is a close link between composition, content and underlying calculation mechanisms. This integration has the potential to generate new expressions and completely new art experiences, as can be seen in the emerging forms of generative real-time art, network-based art, game-based art and interactive performance. I develop a critical understanding of the relevant composition and calculation principles that underlie this work.
